Abstract: The traditional direct torque control of induction motor directly controls the flux and torque through hysteresis comparator, which leads to problems such as limited voltage control vectors, large flux and torque ripple. To solve the problems, adopting SVPWM-DTC, a direct toque control (DTC) method based on space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) was verified with a simulation. The results show that this method can improve the performances of DTC system efficiently and maintain the switch frequency constant at the same time. A practical application used in variable speed constant frequency double-fed wind power system was proposed, in which the key technology is the SVM-DTC. According to the simulated modal, the method enables the wind power generation to be high efficient, the current impact on grid connection to be small, and synchronizing speed on grid connection to be quick. Thus this application further proves that this method is valid and feasible.
