Abstract: Based on the ultrasonic wave scattering theory, a simulation method for the ultrasonic signal echo from liquid level was proposed. According to the fluid boundary-layer theory, the liquid level was divided into a four-layer structure, including liquid phase, gas phase, and liquid and gas stagnant layer. Furthermore, every phase was divided into lots of small scatters, and their scattering intensity was set on the basis of the concentration of water molecule. Thus, the echo signal was the sum of reflecting signals from all scatters. Besides, the simulated signal was compared with the real one with the same system parameter settings. The uniformity of waveform time and frequency parameter, and estimated level can demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. And, the proposed simulation method can also be suited to other transmitting waveform.
